For what it's worth, there is certainly the chance they will arrive a bit early. My Evo, which is now also slated for delivery on the 21st, also shows that it has "Cleared Customs". This means the cars are at the Baltimore harbor, and are ready to go.

seriously, i was under the impression they were being trucked over cross country. are we sure that they're comign in through balt. harbor?

I guess its ok, my freakin tax refund hasnt gotten back to me yet, and I'd like to have it for down payment.

 

It's easy to figure out where the cars are coming from to your location. Just go to the dealer, look at an invoice of another imported car, like the Lancer and check out the "Port Of Origin". It's on the top of the invoice.

 

What fireball described above is exactly what the sales manager showed me last night to prove that the cars are coming from Baltimore, not CA.

Thwack....I'm in Rockville right now....I'm only 30 minutes away too! In fact I'll be driving by the ports tomorrow night on my way to NJ. If I knew what area in the huge port the Mitsus came into, I'd go grab a few cam shots.

My sales manager seemed convinced that the car will arrive before the stated date.

Has anyones dealer on the East coast gotten their invoice yet??

 

I asked my dealership about my invoice also. They said the place where the invoices are mailed from has been having some problems recently getting the invoices to the stores before the cars arrive at the lot. So he said the arrival of the invoice is not a good way to gauge when the car will arrive.

They also said they are getting 4 A61's (wing and sunroof) in the beginning of April. 2 Yellow, one silver and one blue. All will be sold for $200 under MSRP.....and they said they WOULD be willing to sell them to out of state customers now.

20th is still a week away.. I was hoping theyd be in a week early, (by tomorrow), as they have been for rest of country.. 1 day early doesnt exactly thrill me, but ii guess it's better than a day or a week late. are they just going to sit in baltimore harbor for the next 5 days?

I have a deposit down at Sheehy for a blue A61!! Hmmm... I sure as hell hope that'll be my car coming in When I first spoke to Jack about 2 weeks ago I was told the 3 this month are sold, and 2 of the 3 in the next allocation are sold as well (well, maybe not sold but had deposits).. I wonder if this is technically the 3rd allocation?

 

I actually moved away from PA. I live in NoVA now. but I work for a Pharmaceutical Company off Shady Grove rd and 270 in Rockville.

The sales manager at Sheehy seems to think the cars will be here before the stated date also. But I figured I've had no car for 2 months now....whats another couple of days?

I only saw page 2 of the inventory printout. The only Evo's I saw that were "customs cleared" on that page were my Evo, and a Black big win no sunroof. There were other Evos listed on the first page, I just didn't get a chance to see em very well.

The print-off was brand new. So they didn't get a chance to mark off the cars that had deposits on em yet. But the ones I listed above are due on 4-3.

I did finally learn the build date of my car. 2-3-03. It's one of the earlier numbers.

I actually have a deposit down at the Tysons too. Jack wasn't particularly happy about that, but I mean, the dealers don't really have a choice over their color allocations so it's as much of a color/package availability issue. Kinda like, which dealer gets it first I'll buy from. The thing I'm thinking about now is maybe I might be able to get a cheaper price from the Tysons, the head manager there is from Taiwan like me (bargain baby bargain!), so it's likely I'll be able to bargain down to the 200 below MSRP or lower. The only problem with that is I don't know when the Tysons will get a blue one, and since Sheehy's got one in already. Not to mention I'm like #13 or #14 on the waiting list in Tysons. I wonder why nobody knew about the Manassas one? Well, all the better for me
