I raced one a few weeks back and I am bone stock, he had exhaust. We did a pull from 50 mph and i pulled over a car length on him. He didnt believe me that I was stock so I had to pull over and pop the hood . I actually thought he would pull on me.

Acording to Motor Trend the stock Mustang Gt does 0-60 in 5.1 sec., and the 1/4 mile in 13.5 @ 103.6 . The stock Evo does 0-60 in 4.7 sec. and the 1/4 mile in 13.5 @ 100 mph, stock Evo RS 0-60 in 4.3 sec. and 1/4 mile in 102.8 mph, stock Evo MR 0-60 in 4.7 sec., and the 1/4 mile in 13.4 @ 102.0 mph.
Stock for stock it would be a drivers race, with your mods you would take him easy unless you missed a shift or something.

No contest; stock evo can take the gt, your mods are overkill for that race.

Okay, just wanted to get some opinions on this. The answer is clear to me, but my friends do not really think so. I know this is an evo forum, but I'm sure you guys would tell me if I'm crazy.

My car : 2004 Lancer Evolution

My power mods:

HKS Turbo back exhaust w/ Work HFC
HKS RS intake
Hallman Pro RX MBC set @ 21.5 psi
Evo MR DV
Greddy Upper IC pipe
Walbro 255 FP
Ralliart spark plug wires
Mitsubishi Earthing Cables
Defi D Boost, EGT, and A/F gauges
Custom Dynoflash

My friends car: 2004 Ford Mustang GT 40th anniversary

His power mods: Stock

He thinks that he would "smoke" me in a race... I think that from a dig, I would pull so hard on him he would quit. From a roll I would pull almost as hard, but not as bad. The only way he might beat me would be from like a 60mph roll, which is completely unpractical. What do you guys say? Also, does anyone know what an 04 GT has horse power wise? Weight? 1/4 mile times? Thanks guys.

I raced one when I was pretty much stock and pulled on them by about a car. With the mods you really should have no problem.

i have a stock 03 evo and i have beat i can't even count how many gts. as far as a gt if its a good driver, a stock gt agaist a good driver in a stock evo the evo would still win. now with those modds, i would put money on it and even give him a head start lol

I'm pretty sure those figures you've quoted are for the 2005 Mustang GT which has 40 more HP than the 2004, which is what this guy's talking about racing(260 -> 300).

Racing from a roll is retarded. Saying you're taking an advantage away from one car is dumb also. Why don't you take off the tbe or mbc, since that's an advantage? Drag racing is done from a stationary point for a reason, to see overall which car/driver is the best. You don't see any sanctioned races from a roll do you? On Topic though, the EVO will spank the rustang!

He's going to read this thread on Monday! If he still really wants to go, I'll do it. I do not have anything to gain by doing it, but I'm not gonna let him talk smack.

I ran a stock MACH1 with a long list of typical bolt-ons on my EVO ( but stock cams with mail flash) and it was sorta close from a roll... It resulted in the MACH1walking away slowly over 100 and more and more surely as we closed on 130 to about 4-5 cars before I lifted. From a dig, I desroyed him BAD 4 or 5 times without launching hard... With CAMs and a better tune I would have walked him for sure. This was a very fast car and I was shocked how hard it pulled up top... I started to imagine the results if it had been an SC Cobra!!!!
