Mileage Before First Mod

Just out of curiousity. For those that bought an evo brand new off the lot. How many miles did you have it before you put your first performance mod on it?

I just recently bought an '05 evo and have almost 2k miles on it and am gettin' a K&N drop in and thinking about pickin' up a cat back. Should I wait a little longer on something like this?

(ran a search on similar topics didn't find anything related)

I had a thread on this same thing a few weeks ago. After 600 - 1000 miles, anything goes.

I thru in my K&N at 750 or so.

Mods and mileage are unrelated. The only thing you needed to do was break-in the engine, which took 600 miles. Now, the car is waiting to be modded and thrashed...it's been waiting on you.

A search would have definitely gleaned related information, for this has been discussed several times and once very recently. Just learn to search more than once while refining the parameters, and you'll be good. Also, good choice on your first 2 mods...so much better than Injen Intake + HKS SSQV.

You don't need to wait any given amount of miles before moding.

Some people wait for 10k or so just to make sure their car isnt a lemon. That, and its nice to at least get a year or two of warranty on a brand new car.

Does this go for getting a reflash also?

10 miles...hehe Yeah I had to drive it from the dealer ship to the meeting spot for pickup, to be shipped from Columbus Ohio to Elyria Ohio. Then Switzers started the tear down and build up.
