Angry Curb rash Poll..............

Okay, I just trashed another rim (second in two years). I know I'm not the only who's done it but I'm kind of curious about the stats. You either have or havn't.
I guess its a good excuse to upgrade but I dont want to spend $2000+ on a set of rims and scrape them up.

curbed drivers front against a curb leaving the mall (work). first snow storm of the yr and i hadn't put my snows on yet! slid down a sloped off camber road that enters the highway and had to aim for the curb or the mini van that stopped 30 ft short of the light...i chose the curb.

the street i live on in philly is more or less an alley between two main streets. i curbed two wheels so far just trying not to take out someones mirror on my narrow *** street. its two ways with parking on one side and barely wide enough for acar to pass. not to mentioni have to go up a curb to get into my driveway. if i had 18s i probobly would have destroyed them by now.

three of mine have curb rash. Ive curbed two, one was the first day i got the car and the other was during a snowstorm. The third one, my dad took the car out for a drive and it came back with some curb rash. I was pissed, but there wasnt really anything i could do about it.

I just bought into the Evo scene... Along with all the other crap they try to tack on to the final price, they offered wheel insurance. I was ready to say "no," but asked if it covered rims too.... they said yes , but only stock rims. It cost me $195 for 100K miles, but they will repair any damage to the rim. After geting home I noticed it said it didn't cover damage from curbs , so I guess all my claims will have to be pothole related.

I have a little rash from my trailer ramp on one of my rims but no curbs. I never would have thought the ramp could have damaged the rim but it is recessed and the rim hit the side. I now use wooden boards over the ramps and no more damage.

Oh yeah I have curbed a few in my day. Especially livin in mass where the roads are beat from the winters. You dont have to get new rims though. You can get them repaired.

Yeah, minor rash on the right rear wheel as I was pulling into my rather thin driveway. I was wondering whether or not there is any wheel paint that can be bought for the stock wheels that can be used to touch up the scrape.
