Honestly, I think Mitsu and Subaru both should look at maybe a hatch sedan or something with a bit smaller wheelbase to compete agains the 206 in WRC.

Simple take the Original (For example the Evolution VIII). Then chop that to your likeliness to make it a "Evolution IX." There's some really expert artists out there that could make that look soo realistic.

Got the source from one of the automotive magazine in japan, it might be just a sketch, but that's from mitsubishi thought.. peace.. but look at the time span between evo 7 and 8, and they are saying it will be in production the next year.. ?? and they are also thinking use the new CZ3 tarmac spider "if you went to the detroit car show" as the developement base for the evo x, which will under go a complete redesign as far as the base. quote from the magazine, internal source of mitsubishi japan. =)

What's up with car designers' fascination with triangular headlights lately? I HATE THAT LOOK. It looks like a Camry or Altima! The wheel arches don't complement the angular look of the rest of the body. I don't think the lines flow nicely.

Well from the concept sketch. I dislike it a lot, but I can't say its terrible because when i seen spy pics of the evo i thought it was ugly, and what am i driving right now. An evo8. so i was pretty hypicritical. never judge a book by its cover. Who knows this car might handle better compared to the us evo8, or time will tell.

There's no such thing as an EVO 9. Besides, Mitsubishi said that the EVO 8 will probably be the last numbered EVO. They said that it would be a little wierd if it got all the way into the 20's. But, they said that it would still be called Lancer Evolution. Mitsubishi called me when they got the Evo 8 in. I sat in it stared at all the angles for a few minutes before i said "WOW!" It really does look a lot better in person. Truly a dream car.

I doubt they would get rid of the name. The Evolution aka Evo sounds awesome for a car. I just hope knows that we the U.S. are the largest market for them and they should give us the better version than their domestic just to promote sales.

If they gave us LSD,ACD optional AYC in the first place Subaru STi would be at a lost right now because most people know is faster on the road track. I trust they would do it right this times since I feel our mothership have finally understand our needs. Unfortunally my comment in the past was invisible to . I've said it two year ago that mitsubishi must bring the exact JDM evo to compete because of Subaru. Of course U.S. emission and etc. I just can't believe they think a bait and switch would work on us when Mitsubishi fans know technology is what makes our evo so much better. For the time being we just have to rely on our superiour suspention design.

It wouldn't surprise me if subaru went 3L in a year or two just to outpower us. So the evo IX should be awesome. I'm guessing maybe as good or better than the new GT-R because of competion in the states.

Mitsubishi is so big compare to subaru as a company. If we lose the war that would mean the president of would show no face having much more funds and cannot deliver a better car. The evo is our flagship cars, try not to forget that .

So what i'm saying is.... Design the Evo IX or X as a U.S. spec car. Give us an optional more powerful "larger" engine and also a 2L for rally fans as base. Must use the same car as the WRC competing next year. Mitsubishi have one year of developing this great car so build the championship car and give us the car that would make a Subaru owner cry.
