what do you think? pictures from japan source at mitsubishi, the front they are trying to make it look at the colt evolution. which they will replace the lancer at the 05 WRC, according to Mitsu. Has the same 4g63 engine, they can't use the colt on 04 on wrc becase the 4m regulation until 05.

 

not too much of a change....just the headlights mainly...not too bad, although I've never seen a new evo version look soo close to the last model.

 

I think the front end looks nasty. Pure puke!


That's probably for real considering the RalliArt Lancer's front looks like that.

I had a Conquest.. I had the WORST experience with it.. bought a used Lemon.. Can't blame Dodge or Mitsubishi.. only blame myself for buying it without checking it closely enough, it was my first used turbo car..

 

That's definitely a Photoshop. If that's the Evolution IX, then that doesn't deserve the Evolution IX Badge. From what I think they need to do totally for the next stage of the Evolution is they have to totally redesign the whole damn car to be worthy of the next Evolved stage.

If that is it, then they just reworked the front fascia and made it look more bulkier. The headlights are a close resemblence of the 2004 Lancer Ralliart. Too early to tell, the Evolution VIII has just been released recently so there won't be any ideas on the next Evolution stage till the near future.

 

For crying out loud!!! The front end looks like a new Camry with FMIC!!!

It also looks like they ripped the headlights off of a camry!!

It seems like mitsu is trying to get rid of the lancer quickly.... i dunno first it was the evo VII...couple months evo VIII...now a evo IX??? Thats way too quick...i thought usually mitsu gave the evos like 2 years or so for a new version to come out

8 models in 10 years is a bit more than a couple years. I am sure no one is going to complain that Mitsu cares so much to keep updating the car as often as they do.

I apologize if this is my own lack of knowledge, but how do you photo-chop a drawing? I thought that stuff really only worked well with pics?

 

The EVO IX, if continues the established trend of updating, should appear sometime in 2004.
It won't be a full redesign like the VII, more like an update to the VIII.
A completely re-designed EVO, if it actually happens, will likely come in 2006 on the new C/D platform jointly designed by and DCX. This would make it the EVO XI.
The COLT platform is a B platform and not related to the Lancer.
It would be to 's advantage to move to the COLT platform for a new WRC car though. It'll be interesting to say the least.
