cigarette lighter socket bad?

My cig lighter socket is acting up. I plug my SIRIUS receiver to it and everytime I hit a sharp bump the receiver turns off and then back on again and I think its the socket. I can wiggle the receivers power plug while plugged in socket and the receiver will turn off then on again. Fuse on the receiver power cable is still good.

I would try and plug something else into it and see if you have the same problem. It may just be the the plug from your SIRIUS isnt making good contact. Example: I plug my Valentine1 into the Evo no problem, plug it into my wifes Civic and I have problems like yours.

more than likely the plug is the problem. You can check the socket and make sure that it is clean. Also maybe the connection is loose underneath the console where it plugs in doubt it though

Speaking of the cigarette lighter (maybe a little off topic) but the fuse for my cigarette lighter keeps blowing.......I'll change the fuse and for like 5 mins it'll work, then it will blow, even if I put a 20amp in there. I don't want to go more than that because I figure theres a reason its blowing and I don't want to screw something up if its trying to tell me something.....any ideas anyone?

Yes! I found the problem! It was a damn loose connection right behind the socket. No turning oof now when I go over bumps!
