ARK MFD2 stock boost vs optional sensor
ARK MFD2 stock boost vs optional sensor
Hey guys,
Hope this is in the right forum . . .
My girlfriend just picked up an ARK MFD2 for me for my bday
Anyway, she also bought the optional boost sensor with it. Am I better off using this sensor, or is the factory boost reading from the OBD2 port fine?
Also, does anyone know the following:
There is an ORANGE wire that clips to a WHITE wire on an included cig lighter plug in. This is necessary to turn on the unit. If I hardwire it, do I just wire this into the ACC socket? There is also a YELLOW wire off the harness. Maybe I use the YELLOW har hardwiring? Anyone know what this is for?
Anyone know how to add a wideband O2 sensor to this?
Hope this is in the right forum . . .

Unfortuantely, the MFD2 tops out at 1.53 BAR for some reason. I know I'm hitting higher than that because my Cobb AP reads it. So now my first question is answered.
Now I'm trying to figure out how to make it read my wideband O2 sensor. I've read on numerous forums it can be done, but no one has explained how.

Thanks, but it's not on there. There are diagrams on how to wire the MFD1 but the MFD2 plugs into the OBDII port.
It's all on that page man, If you want to log the facory 02 sensor you have to use the following adaper that gets wired into the aux inputs on the junction box.

if using a wideband then you just feed the output to one of the aux wires on the junctionbox, the white wire.
Regardless, you should call them for tech support.

I wanted to add a WIDEBAND. I sent them 2 emails, but haven't had a follow up.
I guess I cut that wire on the junction box? Or tap it?

Looks to me like there should be a bundle of wires coming off the junction box that you wire in external sensor to. You would want to wire the wideband analogue output wire to the white wire that runs in to the junction box. May be a separate harness connector that you have to buy or is in the box the unit came in.
Ok, gotcha. Thank you for your help.
There are a couple of harnesses extensions that come out of the junction box, so I probably have to cut one of the wires off. I'll await ARK's email to see if they can advise.

do you already have your wideband? If so what brand and model (innovate lc-1 for example). If you can get a pic of the various harnesses i can probably help you figure it out. Shoot me a pm and I'll give you my email so you can send me the pics.
