Fifth Gear: Evo 9 vs Evo 6

All Evos were brought in under SVA (UK version of grey market by independent importers) and very few were ever stock when delivered. Many were delivered with 320+ most seem to run catless as well.
So the lighter car wins. That is a nice VI though. Some day I would still like a TME.

I think she meant "officially sold" not grey market. Either way... americans are still deprived by not getting any of them.
that lady can drive, but I didn't think they made the FQs untill the evo VII. I know they made a Xtream evo VI models though from this place

She lost at least a 1/4 second on the downhill right in the IX (her mistake not the cars) and she broke early in the IX for the hairpin, just in what they showed there was a 1/2 second or so in the driving between the two laps. Put Needles in there, he'll give them a propper thrashing!

I am still a firm believer that it was fixed. I am sorry but there is know way that a 3year old VI can be better stock for stock than the IX.

I agree that for the comparison they did the consistency of a professional driver is needed. Perhaps we need to convince them to hire Paul -- Sadly I dont think he has quite the sex appeal she does
i definitely think they should have gone stock to stock. even if one is an FQ, that's still not stock in my opinion. and the VI wasn;t stock either, not sure to what extent, but it wasn't.
it was an interesting comparo though. a 1/4 of a second isn't enough to change my mind about ordering my IX though

she wasn't driving the IX as well, she hiccuped on a couple of turns. . .she's morn confident in the 6 for sure, maybe because it's their car and they've driven it for so long. . .who knows. . .I think the 8's my favorite!!!
Does it really matter, it was just a couple os seconds difference.
It does make since, the 6, is not tail happy, this lets you put down more power exiting a turn, it's also lighter.
The 9 while having more HP, is very tail happy, this keeps you off the gas, every time the tail steps out, you have to go off gas, and correct, this slows you down. Don't forget the extra weight, this really slows you down in the corers.
Lastly, she talked about suspension, the more track ready suspension will show it self on the track.
My final thing, is what tires where they running? Anyone who has track time under their belt will know good tires make all the difference. While the stock 9 tires are Ok, if the 6 had any kind of track rubber, it would win hands down.
Am I the only one who really like the looks of the 6? it is a sexy car! About the only thing I don't care for is the rear wing, while I know it has a purpose, it has just been copied to much with the ricer crowd.
