If not I'd put my money on valve seals. A little bit of valve seal oil loss is not uncommon on boosted cars, I would just monitor the oil level even more cautiously than I usually would. Leaky valve seals won't cost you an engine, unless you run out of oil.
yeah hopefully its nothing serious.....could my mods be the cause of this at all....id like to think not

Are these your only mods? Blitz SUS Intake : DynoFlash : Blitz Nur Spec Exhaust

Do you have a cat? How about a 255 fuel pump? Was it a mail in flash or custom tune?

Humm...someone said it earlier - tubro shaft play. If that is wearing out, and you have too much play then oil can seep into the engine before the chambers and burn off.

But watch it closely, check and recheak fluids.

Sadly, I am in the process of moving back to MI from NJ, so this will prby be my last reply until tomorrow sometime. I am up to my ears in errands.

Best of luck though.

wouldn't think the mods had an effect.

usual causes for turbo bearing failure are:

1) inadequate cooling of the turbo prior to turning the car off - if the turbo is really hot and you shut the car off the oil on the shaft of the turbo will burn off or coke. these deposits with then remain on the shaft and quickly aid in destroying the bearings. Once the bearings start to get loose, the seals start to leak. Eventually if it gets bad enough the compressor wheel will contact the housing and brake off the blades sending little bits of metal into the IC. We have one for my friends Mazda that sounds like a baby rattle...

2) running very high boost and surging the turbo.

That's what I did to check it so I assumed it's right.

how much oil are you burning? check your dipstick. check your spark plugs. don't rely on some dork who noticed some smoke out of your exhaust, the guy is probably fucying color blind.

This is a little of topic but oh well lets digress This was racing and they weren't worried Remind me not to go to that track. His a** should have been black flagged or his car should have started on fire fore being so stupid. I can't stand people who race any type of motor sports knowing their car is leaking crap. Good way to wreck your car or someone elses or even ending with someone hurt

For the poster, definitely keep an eye on your oil. Unless you are going through a quart or more every 3000 miles I wouldn't be to worried although a compression check wouldn't hurt too. If compression is low, do a leak down test. That should tell you if it's valves, rings, or turbo.

From my own experience , white smoke is blow-by boost ( lack of seal/sitting with rings-pistons and boost pushes oil through the dipstick hole or the surge tank ) and blue smoke comes from the turbo , oil leak from the bearings . And coolant is white also ^^
Blow-by can be check if the handle of the dipstick is oily and slightly out of resting place , and for the turbo bearing leak , check the cool side of the turbo and see if there is any oil on this side ( if there is , that's bad news ) . Hope it helps a little ^^

yes i know blue smoke = oil
thnx in advance
My car does the same thing. A small amount of blue smoke only when I boost. I didn't consider it a problem at all. I figured when I do my oil changes there is no noticeble consumption ( I drain over 4 1/2qts.). I owned a a Spec-V prior to this car, the Spec-V would consume just about 2qts. and that seemed common in the Spec-V community (03-04). I assume that the piston rings could be passing some oil under boost. I feel confident in the car and my break in. I have about 9000miles on her and love it!!
