Customer Incentive -$2000
Customer Incentive -$2000
Anyone checked this out?...
http://www.kbb.com/kb/ki.dll/kw.kc.n...0Sedan%204D%20(5-Spd.)&nyrnc
KBB says
is offering a $2000 discount for cash customers.
Base model price listed as $29.582.00, - $2000 = 27,582.00
Anyone know/seen anything official from
on this?? Good luck getting this deal!

For some reason the URL is getting cut off, looks fine when I paste it in. Just look under new cars, 2003, mitsubishi, lancer evo.
It really does say 2K off for cash, and it does appear to be for the Evo, not the Lancer.

ok. found it after searching around a bit... not sure how credable this is considering it's not directly from mitsubishi, but worth checking out... i'll inquire about it when i pick up my car whenever it arrives
BTW, that incentive isn't stating you get 2000.00 back if you pay cash. It's staying you get 2000.00 cash back on the car. It then goes on to use creative words to easily null/void the incentive. It is however worth asking the dealer about. In 99.9% of the cases you'll find that this money isn't paid by the dealer anyway. I wouldn't be shocked to find a good chunk of that money hidden away in a holdback that the dealer is pocketing. Anyone know what Mitsu Holdback is this year? Last I checked it was about 2% of MSRP.
For those of you who dont know about holdback, and think a 5000.00 markup is crazy. You'll be happy to know that the holdback makes the cars you are paying too much for even less than Invoice price.

Never trust web sites like Kelly or Edmunds for hard information on incentives. Here's why.
The REAL national incentive program guidelines for Mitsubishi is 27 pages long in very, very tiny print. There's no way a site like Kelly's is going to do a good or accurate synopsis of them.
I can tell you where KBB screwed up. The standard Lancer (ES, LS, OZ) currently qualifies for a $2,000 rebate. The Lancer Evolution obviously does not but Kelly's lumped the Evo in with the standard Lancer by mistake. Just sloppiness really.
PS
For the gentleman who brought it up, holdback is explained in the thread on Evo Invoice pricing https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...threadid=15746
