Again, retarded. Why must you litter our board with your drivel when you don't even own an Evo? You are the epitome of that which we hate the most. Please go back to Jamaica and play with your VTA BOVs. You have nothing to contribute here.

I guess now I should go out and run 12.6 in an Evo IX with 100oct and the downpipe disconnected. After all, it's stock, right? Amazing...

Could this be attributed to the new turbo and MiVec?

I think that that is what the the whole dicussion has become, because if the higher octane altered the timing of the car, therefore more power was created and it is no longer running in "stock" form. As far as timeslips go, if he posts them great, if not, it still brought up some interesting questions so who cares.

Yup, but you still cant dispute that it isnt a stock car ... What if you do a day pass and a night pass ... the night pass will be better right due to it being cooler .. so would you say the night pass was not stock form ..

Yes but this car was purposly altered by the driver by dumping RACE GAS into the tank with the idea that it would change the performance of the car. Otherwise he would have just run the car as is. Mitsubishi does not recomment the use of 100 oct fuel in the owners manual.

Adding 100 octane to you gas tank is a mod in my book. Argue this point? Sure, knock yourself out, but arguing on the internet is well, you know, lame.

you just described what it feels like to have the ecu pull timing. i believe that the smoothness is your timing. was your boost needle a little erratic?

warrtalon, don't you retune your safc when you dump in race gas? a nd what happened to.

Do the 100 unleaded and be done with it. That will not hurt your o2 sensor nor your cat, but will give a little knock resistance in case you needed it.
taken a little out of context b/c you were talking about octane boost, but the prinicpal is the same, and i remember reading a post of yours (couldn't find it b/c you have 152 pages of posts) that discussed how race gas gave no advantage to a otherwise stock car. and your 2nd sentence would have mentioned the power gain on 100 oct., but the only advantage you listed was knock resistance.

he used 1/4 100 oct 3/4 93? or 91? .25*100(25) + .75*93(69.75) or 91*.75(68.25)= 94.75 or 93.25. not a big difference either way over 93 or 94(some states).

i remeber this exact thing happening when 05s came out and 05s came out with better times. 03-04s said no its not cosistnet blah blah you just got a beast blah blah. then come to find out mitsu immproved the car after a year of development. same thing hear probably. 06s are a little strnger and time will show this.

When I hit 11s on the stock turbo and stock cams, I'm just not going to mention the race gas anymore. Thanks for the heads-up!

I think that "stock" refers to how you take delivery of the vehicle from the dealer. So corresponding octane fuel per manufacturers recommendation, and with all other parts untouched. I think that even if you remove the two stickers from the driver's door panel it would reduce the vehicle weight by an ounce so that is a modification (for all you nitpickers). Any deviance from oem equipment and specs would constitute as not stock imo. Varying climate conditions don't affect a vehicle's qualifications as tuned or "stock."
