Best way to get sticker gunk off?

When i got my car, they did a horrible job with the prep, and there were a lot of sticker gunk still stuck onto my car. What's the best way of removing all of this without damaging my paint? I even have it on the rubbery part of the sun roof.

Also... what method do u guys suggest is the best in removing gum from the carpet... my uncle tracked gum into my car.. damn it...

For the sticker goo...use a blow dryer and heating it up and scraping it off with ur finger nail.....or goo-gone...but most people reccomend not using any chemicals...but those will both work.

As for the gum...buy a new floormat?

OK, sticker I agree with the hairdryer/heatgun and fingerrnail. Goo Gone works great to get the glue off. for the El Cheapo's WD40 works too. But wash the car goos after you use it and wax it too.

Gum, try using ice to get it hard and then pick it out. Upolstery cleaner should work too.

heat is the best way, while using another sticker to pull off the old stuff. Goo-b-gone is ok for paint too.

For gum, maybe their's some kind of oil that's safe for fabrics. Should be able to get it out. You'll have to soften it first tho

Goo gone should be perfect for the carpet.

they did the same thing to my 05... it was FULL of sticker residue... I used soap and got it all off by scrubbing.. try that FIRST... then go for Goo Gone if that dosent work in the affected areas

I was going to give the same advice. The blow dryer works wonders. Just make sure the chord isn't in any puddles.

WD-40 will probably eat your paint. Not good stuff there.

I just used some carnuba was and it took it right off my car. If it's really bad use a clay bar.

Some of the answers in this thread are simply scary.

The best answer is 3m's General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner which can be purchased from any automotive paint supply house. An alternative is naphtha from a hardware or paint store.

clay bar only takes a long time but you don't have to worry about chemicals. and also you'll need it later, you won't ever need that adhesive remover ever again...
