SRS light went on?

Yesterday I took off my front bumper to mess around with some stuff, I unplugged a wire from the radiator fan. I put the plug back in, put the front bumper back on along with all the splash guards. I turn the car on and now my SRS light is on. I think maybe I hit a sensor or somthing in the front bumper. I tried unplugged the battery for 20 minutes and reset everything but the light is still on. Any ideas why this could have gone off or how I can get it to go away? Maybe it will go off in time, or should I goto the dealership and have them reset it? Any ideas?

take it to the dealer. Thats what i did. They resited it for free. You probably unpluged a sensor, or grouded sumthing.

You just told them the light went off and they reset it no questions asked for free?

that is what i am thinking too. Wasn't there even a recall to put a sticker on the inside of the hood telling mechanics not to disconnect something that will set off the SRS?

The dealership should turn it off for free if you just tell them " i don't know what happened, it just went off." they did that for me when my test pipe set off my SES light.

I'm guessing you unplugged one of the yellow plugs behind the bumper. If you unplug the yellow plug and plug it back in without first removing the negative battery cable, the SRS light will come on. Once that happens there is nothing you can do to reset that light unless you have a computer that can reset SRS. My mechanic did the same thing when he changed my condensor. Luckily his brother worked at a nissan dealership and he had a handheld computer capable of resetting SRS. Those handhelds are very expensive and most small shops will not have one.

What yellow plug are you talking about, for the headlight? I did unplug one of those but I plugged it back in. If we're talking about the same thing then that seems like the problem. I guess i'll just have to bring it to the dealer tommorow and tell them to turn it off. What do they reset to make the SRS light go away? I don't need them resetting my TurboTrix tune.

they are not going to reset your tune. The air bag runs off another computer. They will reset it for u.

Sweet, anyone else know if the real reason for it going off was because of the yellow headlight plug?

The plug right behind your headlight is not a headlight plug if we are thinking about the same thing. The airbag sensor is a little box right behind your headlight and has a little harness that plugs into it. I saw it when I put my intake on.

****, I thought that was a plug for the headlight. Oh well I guess that is the problem then, anything else I can do other than having the dealership reset it?
