reflash ecu before put in the parts

I am just curious if i can reflash my ecu before i put the parts in such as...cams,mbc and fuelpump. because i want to reflash my ecu first then put them in later. will it hurt your engine if you get your ecu reflashed for those parts but you didn't put them in yet?

There really is no point. You can flash it when stock to help the AFR out some but as soon as you install parts you're going to need retuned.

for the most part, you add something then you must tune for it.

You should be fine. Many do just this. The rest do the parts and then get a custom reflash on the dyno or the street for a more accurate tune. We offer both mail in flashes and custom tunes.

Dont reflash first its very "non intelligent"

Things change. Today you may want 264's, then next month u see 272's you like , etc. You run short on money and decide not to do MOD X, now your running pig rich. It's not a good idea IMO.

In your case it would be OK to drive around to get the car to the shop to do the installs with the flash in the car - HOWEVER - you would be best advised to stay on LOW boost as the flash for the fuel pump will run leaner when you dont have the fuel pump. If you stay OFF boost or very low boost the car mostly runs closed loop and it will be fine. (closed loop is where the ecu adjusts the a/f ratio from f 02 sesnsor feed back).

Also - you could arrange to have your shop send out your ecu while its there and have it fed ex'd back, I have done that a few times
