Cluster boost gauge (lancer)

I was wondering if anyone has put a boost gauge where the "Lancer" symbol thing is, by the gas and temp gauge. I found this thread and nothing happened with it: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...t+gauge+lancer

I agree that'd be really awesome to put a boost gauge there but that is a really small spot

uhm... you can do it... however you can only do it with an spa or similarly thin gauge. the spa is very very thin about .75" thick. that's the amount of clearance you have back there... unless you wanna do some cutting but i haven't gotten a chance to look, it may not be cutable.

the other thing is you have to use an spa gauge because the bezel is removable... you actually place the gauge behind the socket, not in it. which is another reason you need a totally thin gauge. the downside? no sweeping stepping motor type gauges because those usually come wtih some thickness, plus fancy pants gauges have thicker wires and you need to think of more clearance to be able to snake those wires back there. for the gauge cluster that is in the link above you see the guy actually had to chop off the regular wires to snake things around in the rear.
