boost with race gas????

boost with race gas????

i am currently running my boost at 21 with 93 octane... if i put 110 octane in for the weekend can i safely turn up my boost? and if i can what should i turn it up to???

I put 110 in my car and cranked the boost to 25 psi with no problems, of course i have a Utec to datalogg with

You can run up to 25PSI but odds are your turbo won't hold that PSI.

FWIW.....I picked up 1MPH for every two degrees of advance timing I give the car that doesn't result in knock.

I also have a aftermarket IC which helps hold the boost but the stock turbo is still a hair dryer at higher levels. As Jeff stated the Benifits from race gas don't just come from the Boost, timing is also the other biggy. you should be able to crank the boost and add about 2-3 degrees of timing throughout your curve

i have an ams turboback with test pipe, k&n drop in and an ams boost controller.... no flash or safc yet!

The stock DV is a piece. You'll still notice decent gains. With the stock fuel and timing you should be fine but every car is different, you should have some kind of pocketlogger to watch for the ECU pulling timing(knock)

yeah i will get something! was just gonna do this for the weekend.. goin to the track and wanna see what this will do?? then my cars going up for the winter. ill have a new bov by the time i get it out in the spring!!!
