Lol no I have real doors, my wrangler is bascily just like anyother suv. I have a hard top, and real windows/doors.

 

RS. Fewer bits to take out when you mod the crap out of it.

 

Not everybody with an RS did it just to save money. Of course it was a nice silver lining in all of it that helped me get an OK from the wife, but when I bought my '05 RS in very early 2005 the dealership was selling '04 GSR's for the same price. In the end, at least for those of us that like to tinker, the RS is sorta like a blank canvas. Lots of room for improvement. I've been having a blast with it. It also doesn't have the spoiler which is something I didn't want or need since I use the car for business.

Soon my friend...soon. I just ordered a Tanabe downpipe and 3" highflow cat. Gruppe-S is gonna install and dyno tune my fugly little econobox and then we'll take a spin. A couple weeks ago I took Rich (aka Sled Driver) for a spin through the foothills and he got real quiet. After we pull over and get out he takes a deep breath and says "I'm gonna have to change my diapers now". LOL.

BTW...I'm still subscribed to that thread about the new cams. Have you done anything else since then?

 

I race. I care. Factory stereo (note spelling) sucks. RS is built to be faster. All the stuff that you listed as "=suck" are the things that made me decide to buy the car over the GSR and STI. I can tell you that having a front limited slip diff. does not suck. Unless you have an 05, you won't have one of those. I guess you have a front diff. on................YOUR JEEP.

RS is the purest version of the car. Period.

A real evo has to have a wing and has to be white. Therefore get a 9 GSR.

The wing is what makes an evo an evo. Some people may find it gaudy, but it serves a purpose. Yes the RS is cool and more of a purist car cause it is lighter, though I use my car as a daily driver and need stuff like power windows and keyless entry.


The evo 5 RS has a wing(no brembos, recaros or AC), the evo 6 RS has a wing, and the evo 7 RS has a wing. So an evo has to have a wing.

 

My alpine/xtant with focal polyglass kicks the standard evo gsr radio to the curb! It was very practical. My JL Audio subwoofer is removable as well when I need the space, or free up the weight.

One of the reasons I got an RS is I wanted to spend a little cash getting a good sounding stereo.

 

Its an irrelavent question, each is excellent in its own special way. Its more opinionated than anything else because there is no one true better evo seeing as they are all well.....evos.

No wing =suck? The wings on the EVO and the STI are the exact reason why I bought an RS. Look at how many poeple remove them. The sleeper look is sweet.

 

White Evos are the best, no doubt. But sleeper and Evo just don't belong together in the same sentence, IMO. The car has always been known as being an extrovert. I was going to put "SUBTLE" on my tag, but its already taken in my state. People think just because they take their wing off, their car will be all svelte or something. Most people will still think you drive a souped up Lancer ES (not meant as a insult to all my Lancer ES, OZ and Ralliart brethren). Finally a car where the big *** whale tail is actually FUNCTIONAL and people want to take it off. It's all good though. It shows mitsubishi is at least trying to please you guys and offering the car in so many different ways. To each is own, the cars look good either way, but I have my wing where it belongs - on the trunk.

I drive the fat, heavy luxury model SSL, BTW. I just couldn't do without the HID's and could not afford the MR package. The sunroof is nice when I'm cruising down the Nurburg....err Hwy 280, and the leather looks better then the blue inserts.

 

The HID's are a big plus IMO, and I wish the 06 RS was offered with the option of HID's. Other than that, I feel the RS is a great choice, and my pick out of the three.
I'm looking at picking up a (Wicked) White 06 RS for our demo car, it would be so perfect.
