What is better IX,RS,MR
What is better IX,RS,MR
well i just want to know what is better. i don't see a really big difference by looking at the 3 models on Mistu's site. i know the Rs has no wing, and MR has some more saftey features and packages on it. but if there is somehting i am missing plz tell me
I own an RS. Obviously it's the best...but only the white ones. The red ones are slow and have clutch and synchro issues. Don't even get me started on the GSR and MR. Mostly hairdressers and florists drive those but...
Dude I'm joking. All three have the same engine with the same power. It's the creature comforts and appearance that differentiate them all. There was an article that Motor Trend did ealier this year comparing all three. You should check it out. Good read.

Ohhhh boy, you will get flamed for not searching. I'll give it to you in a nutshell. The MR has an extra gear and has an aluminum roof. As far as looks, it has the BBS wheels and the optional package with that front air thingy under the front bumper. The RS on the other hand is completely stripped of everything. It has no wing, no radio, no sound padding stuff surrounding the car so it will be a harsher ride, black door handles and side mirrors. And, it only comes in white and red. Uhh, I'm missing a ton, but this is just a small tidbit.

The mr has a 6speed instead of a 5speed, Bilstein shocks, BBS rims, Aluminum roof (same with the RS),Color-keyed Vortex Generator, Zero-lift package (front under-airdam, gurney flap), HID's (is available for the IX only through the SSL Package), there's probably more to the MR that I can't think of right now.
The IX has Enkei rims, only available as a 5speed, available SSL Pacakage (sound, sun, and leather), and all the standard stuff.
RS has basically everything the IX has excluding the wing, unpainted door handles/mirrors, no power windows (maybe locks not sure), no radio, and DOES come with the aluminum roof the MR has.
I think thats pretty much it. If I left anything out just add on.

The RS has less equipment cost less, weights less and people that own them are not looking for fancy thing but only for the pure performance. RS don't offer ABS though.
The regular Evo 9 is a bit more equiped that the RS and cost a bit more and off course weights a bit more as well.
The MR weights a hair less than the regular Evo 9, it comes fully loaded and is still as fast or a hair faster than a RS at the track with the downside of extra price .
All the 3 trims wouldn't dissapoint you. They are all great cars, same engine power, same brakes regular Evo and MR has ABS), Evo MR has better suspension and better and lighter wheels and 6 speed.

dude there isnt a better one. evolution owners are just lucky to have the options of trim. think of the STi, we could be stuck with one model. each model wont disappoint....unless your a features nut (RS not for you). bang for the buck the "GSR" and RS are killer cars.
this is why we are lucky to have three trim's. Evo VIII here is happy with his SSL, and im happy with my RS.

i agree with him, the white RS is SEXY!!!!!! thats what i would have. unless i won the lotto, then there would be a fully track prepped white rs, and a beautiful graphite grey MR to cruise with parked in my driveway next to my sartie

RS: No wing=suck, No sterio=suck. RS is mostly, to me, the low price evo, it's the lowest weight but unless you race who cares?
IX: Pretty much the middle of the road, you can get the SSL only on this model, basicly if you don't want to pay the 5 grand more for small stuff (besides the 6 speed) for the MR, go with this one. You can get this evo in ALL colors now.
MR: Can't get SSL, has HID headlights, 6 speed instead of 5 like the other two, vortex generators, aluminum (lighter) roof, different wheels. To me, the MR package should only cost 2 grand more than the IX, but it's 5, so oh well
