Not having read all the other posts on this thread, all I can say is that if you are running your EVO on racetracks, the RS is your choice, hands down. If it is your daily driver on the street, the MR is your choice for sure. That leaves the GSR as a compromise, cheaper than the MR and less brutal than the RS. You decide.

The 6 speed transmission is the only reason to get the MR. The transmission pushes it ahead of the other terms by far. If the RS was offered with a 6 speed in the US market it would be the best.

I consider the 5 speed preferable for racetrack use. As I understand it, 1st and 2nd are the same in the 5 and 6 speeds, and 5th gear in the 5 speed is the same as 6th in the 6 speed. That leaves the intermediate gears. In the 6 speed, 3rd, 4th and 5th cover the same ground as 3rd and 4th in the 5 speed. On the racetrack, the less time and effort you spend shifting the better. When you are worried about braking, steering, throttle, etc., more shifting with a 6-speed is a downside.

What track are you referring too, because the 6 speed is much better on any road course unless it’s a tight winding box, or a drag strip, which I don’t consider to be a true track.

On the other thread, we answered the same questions. It nice when you ask questions, but are too lazy to read so you make another topic. Cool.

The GSR is the regular Evo. The GSR trim title is a good, it makes the whole line up fit together (RS, GSR, MR). Its not just a JDM thing, Evos everywhere 'cept the US are labeled that way. The only reason Mitsubishi didn't title it as the "GSR" is because there arleady a GSR and there didn't want any conflicts. I pretty sure there is no Integra GSR in Japan (I believe its called the SiR2)

Closed.

He was asking the difference not for peoples opinion on what color is better or why you think one is better then ther other. There are already plenty of threads on all these topics.
