you're right, heat gun is the way to go. Just heat the glue, and slowly pry it open. When you put it back together, reseal it using the factory glue and then reinforce it with silicone.

Flat black is the color used for the JDM MR tails, gloss black is what is used for the Evo 9s taillights.

+1 on Evodaves incredible craftsmanship. I had my stockers painted JDM MR style with a gunmetal turn signal, and came out flawless; he even buffed out a few small exterior scratches on the outer clear lense.

Wow dude, that looks really good! Nice work! Much better than I could do for sure. I know I would lose my patience and probably have to buy a new set of lights after I threw mine across the garage. LOL

Dave, your lights look so awesome. A buddy of mine just got the MR fronts on his black EVO and I can't stand looking at my chrome ones anymore. lol I love my 7 style ones though, and I'm glad I got them! Thx again.

You don't pry anything! If you do it will cause small cracks or break the lens. Use a utility knife to cut the glue(between the lends and housing) after it is heated.

EvoDave does an awsome job at doing these. I think I did my tails in about 2-3 hours.
