Well i guess i should just give up. LOL. I guess i am looking for someone to tell me the car will act totally different with a set of snow tires. I just want the car to stop without the abs kicking in every time. This is just so irratating. If i get the blizzaks will the car stop better than other cars will. I mean if the car stops better on dry pavement than most cars will it stop better than other cars with blizzaks in the snow. It really doesn't snow a whole lot in the Northeast where i am at. Just looking for something that will stop the car period. Damn now i am just depressed.......

If the car accelerates better, it will also stop better.

4 snow tires. End of story. I can't believe people still have to ask this.

In AZ. we dont have much snow, thats why I left the N.E.,But it sounds like the mismatched tires dont work well together. When I play in the snow I use the e-brake and the gas .oh how I miss the snow....NOT!

Buy some real winter tires (not all-season garbage) and you won't have any problem stopping or turning in the snow. The big killer isn't even the snow, but the low temps. Once the temp drops below feeezing, those Advans turn into hockey pucks.

No ****. If your tires have no grip, then your brakes are useless. Don't skimp out on winter tires or you'll write off your Evo. This is the very definition of "false economy."

It will. I have a set of Dunlop DS-1 Graspics on my Evo and they've gotten my through 2 harsh Canadian winters. No trouble at all.

Like I said the snow isn't as big of a problem as the low temps. Summer tires get brittle at low temps. Winter tires stay supple. Plus, the softer sidewalls help them stick to deformable surfaces.

ABS is meant for control under braking. It's not meant to stop you in shorter distances in snow. Brakes stop the wheel, but it's the tires that make contact with the snowy road. So follow everyone else's advice and get some snow tires. You may also want to consider changing your driving habits in the snow. You're suppose to approach a stop a lot slower in bad weather.

Another note: I can't belive you got a shop to mount 2 different tires on an AWD car?
