Valve Cover Bolt backed out/ Spark plugs

I just changed my oil and my plugs today and noticed that one of my valve cover bolts was very loose, to the point it was actually sticking up a noticable amount from the others.... I am assuming it was from my cam install but there have been no oil leaks in that area so I just tightened it and all is well.... Next thing I notice everytime I change my plugs which is about every oil change is that they always come out very easy some have even been loose in there. Is my engine just vibrating like a mo ****er? LOL Soon the whole thing will just shake itself apart. J/K

all mine were loose. one day i was messing with the spark plug cover and decided to make sure the valve cover bolts were tight. sure enough, they were loose. i got a couple good turns out of all of them before they got tight again. i've never messed with the valve cover before that.

lol

i have read that a similar thing to what you mentioned has happened before to other members. is guess its your 272s causing the loosing of the bolts and plugs. have you tried tightening the problem areas down a little more than stock torque specs?

Well I crank the spark plugs in there pretty good. Then when I go and take them out they hardly put up a fight to the point that some turn out with my hand. I think the valve cover screw may have been loose from my cam install a few months ago but I am not sure... I don't think I would have missed that being loose but you never know? I have changed the plugs a few times since and never noticed...

Get a set of both front and rear motor mounts so that your motor wont shake all crazy. This is a very simple fix make sure also that you have the right torque specs for the valve cover.

I would check my threads "vibrations cracking my car apart" this is how my car started, and next come the AC bracket bolts, AC bolts, etc. If you get vibrations around 3800-4500RPM, YOU better make sure your oil pump balance shaft is NOT OUT OF PHASE 180 degrees. this can happen with a cam change. Be forewarned!

Merry Christmas! I'll see how things go. I don't think the whole car will fall apart. I was only kidding. I do not have any vibrations that seem odd at any RPM range... The only vibration is at idle from the loppy cams. Gabe really know's how to torque those bolts. LOL

I'd deffinitely watch those loose spark plugs. One time i didn't tighten my plugs hard enough on a former honda and one of the plugs came shooting out of the engine at a redlight. Needless to say that honda motor was putting about half the pressure on the sparkplugs that the evo is. Might wanna tighten those things a tiny bit past spec. I better go check to make sure mine aren't loose. Believe me, it sucks picking up a burning hot plug at the intersection and having no way to put it back in.
