No offense taking... You were mature about it and "to each there own." Just wish more members could be as mature as you. As far as my opinion of the Evo... It sucked. Clutch gone at 20k, diff gone at 30k , PS pump and Stater gone at 31k in the samwe week and Mitsu warranty coverage was the worst. But thats my $0.02

The problems you had with your car are all fixable and can be made never to give you a headache agian. Though pricey all that crap could have been easily fixed

03 Evo 8....Just turned 40K today! Not a single problem with mine. As you can see, I have the Vishnu Stage 1+ since I bought it and not a single problem....yeah I get the CEL but its the p0300 code....it comes on and off....I've learned to live with it...you should have too....I take mine in every 3K for the scheduled oil & filter change....still no problems....this car was tracked for 13K and still no problems.....good luck with whatever car you decide on and Merry Christmas!!

Most people that get rid of the EVO usually regret it. The only person I know that got rid of the EVO and didn't regret it was robert K.

Anyways, all cars have problem and all manufactors have ****ty dealers and such.

My buddy with an Audi says that the turbos on the S4 are a know problem and have to be replaced.
A STI with 300WHP will have just as many problems as an EVO.
I've heard of the 350Z also having its own problems.

I believe the EVO to be pretty strong, like Mike MAN said, my buddy literlly beats the **** out of both of his EVOs (03 & 05 MR, he wreaked the 03) and has had no problems. And I mean he beats the **** out of them. He's a good driver but just very aggressive. (ie, starts beatin on them at 250miles, no break in, goes though tires every 4K miles, drives all bumpy mountain roads, just basiclly drives like a rally driver)

I would agree here... I just wouldn't feel right going from the Evo to the STi.

I would not get the 06 STI. I have been looking at it also. I seem to come back to the EVO every time! I know a person that sold his EVO for the 06 STI and he launched 4 times. The 5th time he broke the plastic brackets on the liquid filled motor mounts. He took into the Dealership and they stated they would fix but if it happens again then they might not. I have also heard of people breaking these brackets with hard downshifts???
