I love my EVO (BBY + SSL) and had it for a couple years now! I had a sweet deal with a dealership and after getting ready to trade it I took the 9 for a day and decided that at this time it was not worth it. Any how, after spending wisely and deciding on keeping my car I now think it might be a bad decision. All of a sudden I have the service light coming on all the time. I have alot of mods and most done by AMS and it seems strange and this is pissing me off.
LET ME SAY IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH AMS> THEY EVEN TOLD ME TO TAKE THE CAR TO THEM SO THEY CAN FIGRE IT OUT! I WOULD HAVE THEM TUNE ANY CAR OF MINE
While the EVO is a great car I might have to part with it! My dealer have always fixed all my problems for free but at this time I am about to leave the family.
My parts will be up for sale.
It seems as if when these cars get to 20k+ the headache starts.
The next thing my be a used M5, STI 06, or the like.
My car is quick and I love it but these cells drive me crazy!
I never had that problem with my V with basically the same mods!
I know the cell is a easy fix but why the hell it keeps coming back god knows?
Post thy knowledge and imput as I move forward in the quest to keep it or to let it go.
By the way what do you guys think about an even up trade for a 04 STI with a new motor installed by the factory and a guranteed tune for 300 awhp on 91?

 

You are selling the car because the CEL? put a piece of tape over it, or paint your dash lense FLAT black! NO problemo. good luck with the sale anyway.

 

I got rid of my 03 also for having many problems. I do think the Evo is an awesome car but I needed something I didn't have to continuiosly worry about. Anyhow good luck!
BTW: M5>Evo anyday.

 

I definatly disagree with your bolded statment. It all depends on what your talking about. The M5 definatly DOES NOT beat the Evo in everything... therefore your statment is completely false.

And seriously where did the M5 and EVO comparison even come from, I didn't know it was common to compare $70k or the new one $90k M5s to $30k EVOs.

M5 or STi - If you're looking for touring/luxo go M5. Maybe you should comsider a pre-owned Audi S4 with 2.7bt - We need to keep you in the AWD fam! A few G's in the 2.7bt and those things are nasty (new brakes needed as well, they are an awkward 3 pot design).
I would avoid the STi, I think they suffer mre problems than Evos of late...

OK... As fas as the M5>Evo statement it call personal opinion. Also I don't miss my Evo at all. I'm accually liking the 350Z much more than I did the Evo.

 

Learn to drive the EVO properly? Got 34k on my 03. No problems.

i had a 350z and i must say that it sucked... theres not enough space. and room for 2?... you dont get the kick that the evo has when you floor it... aside from that the ride is just rough...
