Really stupid problem

So my rear passenger window decided to give me the finger. The power window switch works from the actual door, however when I use the driver door controls the window does nothing.

Any clues as to how to fix this? (my car is out of warruntee and I would rather not have to pay for this.) I am pretty handy DIY'er with electronic fixes.

check to see if the switch actuates with a ammeter (driver door). if not, do a continuity test to see if you have a broken wire (mostly likely not though)

mine was doing this yesterday... when my passengers in the back manually lift the windows I cannot control them after that. So I had them lift the windows back up and I tried to bring them again and it worked. Is this normal?

Yeah both switches can't be used at the same time. Also the drivers side controls works for all the other windows.

Mine does this only because the rear passenger window control sticks. So I have to make sure it is not sticking in order for me to use it from the main window control. You may want to check to see if it is sticking down or up because you aren't able to use it from the drivers side if the rear is trying to work.

So are you saying that if you have the passengers operate the window from the door, and you simultaneously try to move the window in the opposite direction from the driver door, the driver door input doesn't override the current mode of operation? i.e. if they are rolling it down, and you try to roll it up, does it keep moving down?

Nope the window just stops moving the 2 switches fight

But it doesn't do this on the other three windows? I would have expected this to be normal behavior. But if no one is in the car but you, and you roll the windows down from the driver's door, everything works, right?
