Here's a question. Would a clipped TME turbine have the same spool up as a regular inconel with superior flow? I know there has be talk that possibly a ti/al might surge, so would clipping this wheel kill two birds with one stone?

I had a TME and have a Buschur stage 4 and had alot of surge, so i opted for the regular EVo9-20g per Dave's reccomendation. The TME turbine wheel is said to spoolup 300 rpms faster than the inconnel wheel. Now clipping will reduce spoolup, but i don't have your answer. You have to ask Buschur your question.

So the question is, would you end up with a turbo that spools similar to a regular Evo 9 20 G that flows more?

And that's weird, because my WR doesn't seem to surge at all.

No this is a normal Evo9-20G the guy had in his car!

Warrtalon- Your knowledge and input are very much appreciated in this thread as well as the board! Thanks for all the help with the technical based questions

What happened to the "saying" You can give a man a fish and he will have a meal.. you can teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. I guess some people just aren't hungry enough.
Justchil- can you also give your input on how you like the turbo. The car I rode in was holding 26psi to redline and it pulled nice and strong to redline. No surging problems and great spool! I hope you like your turbo because after the test drive I definetly want one.

Buschur hasn't made any Evo 9 20Gs with the ti/al hotside yet.

Actually we have made (1) 20g-9 with the TME internals. Ted B has it. I warned him it might surge and he said he'd take his chances.

Looking forward to the results.

Warrtalon, thanks for answering so many questions.

To be honest I've only put about 100 miles on it so far. I blew a gasket I had made for the licp so I'm still in the process of fixing that. The miles I have driven have been awesome. Keep in mind I'm not tuned yet so I'm still trying to take it easy. Not to mention I'm running stock injectors and have no way of controlling fuel.

I think my car was pretty strong putting down 296whp on buschurs dyno with only stage 2.5. I can't wait to see what she will do now.

Looks like Al is going to be up there early Feb.. so look forward to my dyno results then.. (unless of course someone wants to throw a free AEM EMS to me. then i'll drive up next weekend to buschur and put it on the dyno

Well I guess posting "Dave, I actually wanted a 9 20G with ti/al internals" actually works.

Dave, any thoughts on my conjecture from above?

What's a wheel?
