HOW TO GET Sponsored
For the guy that started this thread. if you are new to the game it's all about who you know. If you don't know anybody you will NOT get any attention from the manufacturers.
It's best for you to start at the shop level, you will most likely have to buy a crazy amount of product from one shop before they even notice you. Stop by the shop about once a week to buy another item, do not do a one stop $15k purchase. If you are constantly around the shop buying and learning you may get "some" help from the shop at the local level. Try to be their friend not their anoyance, spending money helps.
If you are a "show" guy participate in ALL the local shows, this means 500-800 miles. If you are a "racer" participate in ALL the races for the type, this means up to 2000 miles. You MUST have a track reacord of doing what you say you will. Document everything!
As your career grows you need the documentation. After a couple years of local/shop sponsorship you might start thinking about manufacturer sponsorship. Start small dont ask for the world and don't act like a know it all. The manufacturers have seen it all. If you are going to approach manufacturers you NEED a profesional proposal. The contents are up to you but don't make it look like a 10 year old put it together.
Once you get a sponsorship you must produce, do what you say, complete your obligations. If you flake out and take the parts/money and run your career is over, manufacturers do talk to each other. If you fail to produce you may even be required to pay for the parts, and this could be at full MSRP.
Remember this is a business, companies think of sponsorship as advertising. Will they get more exposure from a decal on your street car than they will get with a 1/2 page add in Automobile Magazine?
Being sponsored is a JOB and you must produce(i.e. WIN).

also i wanted to ask if you would sell me your interior if you are not going to use it since you dont use the car for DD.

All things aside, every person in this thread wishes they were sponsored.
Funny when you think about it.
edit: Also, I plan to achieve sponsorship by crushing Warrtalon in a duel to the death! Pistols at high noon!?!?

Bottom line is you need a way to increase your sponsor visibility. You can do that many ways like Warrtalon said, but the bottom line is you need to have a positive impact on the bottom line and everyone will be happy.
