evo IX beats porsche and audi
Evilution VIII -
You should attribute the qoute in your signature, "I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me." to its originator, the late-great Hunter S. Thompson. Not to do so is plagarism, as well as being uncool.

Good point, Richard, but do they have the FQ's yet for the IX? If so, the FQ400 will dominate without question. Remember it making the Murcielago spin out on the TopGear track? And beating the Zonda to 60? I get the magazine at Borders, and I'm hoping it's a straight IX, just for bragging sake
Just found a link... they have up to the 340...
Model range
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX FQ-300 £27,999
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX FQ-320 £29,999
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX FQ-340 £32,999
· FQ-320 features upgraded breathing apparatus developed by Mitsubishi Motors UK’s Ralliart division in conjunction with HKS.
· FQ-340 includes FQ-320 breathing apparatus and adds a supplementary ECU, which controls the ignition timing and air/fuel mixture.
The site I got that info from's pretty awesome: http://www.japanesecarfans.com/print.cfm?ID=2050506.003

Not fair? Are you kidding me? It's amazing that the Evo 9 beat an $80k Audi and a $100k Porsche. Give credit were credit is due.

Well didn't you see the Top Gear video of the Lambo vs. Evo? I believe the Evo kicked it's *** there too, and that was probably a 300k car

it wasnt an fq it was the standard IX MR.. if were are talking about the 400 it would OBLITERATE those cars.. ****.. it kills 200K super cars. Their MR doest have SAYC if im not mistaken.. but that just adds weight and its debatable if its that much of a benefit.
I didnt even think the IX fqs were developed yet?

Actually, I wouldn't surprise me that an EVO IX (not FQ-400) would beat a RS4 around a road course. I have an S4, and it is very heavy and much slower than an EVO on the track. The RS4 has more hp than the S4 and is a little lighter, but still maybe 500 lbs. heavier than the EVO.
The Porsche is a closer call.

Very impressive. This is why I own an Evo.
But by the same token, a Porsche Carrera has a long list of things that an Evo could never dream of having--hence the price. This is why I laugh to myself every time I see someone compare bang-for-the-buck. If everyone was ONLY looking for raw unrefined performance, a crappy warranty, and mediocre build quality, we'd ALL be driving STi's and Evos.
Not trying to rain on any parades cause I like my Evo as much if not more than you guys, but I'm just saying that there's so much more to a Porsche that you could never put a price on it. SUPERB engineering is one, second is the driving experience unlike any other.
As for the RS4, it just got its *** handed to it. But look how heavy and luxurious it is in comparison to the Evo! Again, no comparison! I've had a couple Audis and while they're great, you're basically paying for the interior and highly-unnecessary technology. Sort of like buying a new Benz, which will take you back to the service center once a month with electrical bugs.
Personally, I think the only car you can ever compare an Evo to is the STi. Rally-bred sedans are truly in a league of their own.

i'm about the biggest porsche fan around. there are a number of porsches i would trade my evo for. just give me a 993 gt2 or even an RS. unfortuately i invest too much to throw that kind of money at a car.
