In the newest issue of evo there is a test of the evo 9, porsche carrera 4s, and the audi rs4. Guess which car wins. THE EVO! Just goes to prove how awesome this car is. I do not have this issue yet so i have not read it yet. I came across this on lancerregister.com and i looked it up on evo.co.uk but they dont have it posted to read yet. Just thought you guys might be interested in this Oh and by the way if you dont already, go buy a issue of evo. It is the best car magazine bar none.

 

I can't wait to read this...the evo is more bang for the buck, but the new 3.8s and the Rs4 are incredible cars.

 

i appreciate the insight but it is not a fair test. it should have been evo9 vs Porsche 911 GT2 vs Audi RS4. in order for it to have more merit it has to be a flagship shootout...

unless the evo9 is that much better than the 05s i cant imagine it wining any comparison test, until you bring money into the story. having both an 05 evo8 and a 06 911s in my family i can tell you the 911 is hands down a faster more capable car. i initially posted saying it wasnt that much faster than my evo when we first got the 911s but now that its broken in it is noticeably faster. either way when im home i dont take the porsche i love my evo way too much. i cant wait to read this article

 

2006 C4s is the flagship porsche, as there is no 2006 GT2, hell the turbo and gt3 arent even out yet.

 

good point.. it is still incredible considering teh cost of teh other cars. The new gt3 will probably be insane as usual though.

 

I'm thinking the Evo took them in handling and maybe 0-60...the RS4 and C4S will run into the 180's and beyond unrestricted. At 3200 to 3300 the Evo is a good bit lighter than the other two, especially the Audi, they are known to be porky.

 

1. They haven't made the GT2 in over a year.
2. It was against the RS4.

Not fair? Are you kidding me? It's amazing that the Evo 9 beat an $80k Audi and a $100k Porsche. Give credit were credit is due.

 

the 8 beat a c4s, m3 and an s4 a couple years ago in car and driver.

 

Cant wait to drive one, they look great, same aerokit as the tequipment aerokit for the 997, and 400 horsepower naturally aspirated., the 996 gt3 was a blast to drive, the 997 gt3 is going to be unbelievable.

Where do you get this Evo magazine?

 

i always pick up evo from barnes and noble but i am looking to become a subscriber soon. I am sick of paying 10 bucks an issue every month. I bet that we will not see this magazine on our shores for at least another month. That is another reason i am going to subscribe. We are always about two issues behind at least here in the states. That always pisses me off haha

 

Which EVO IX??? If this is a British test, it could have been the FQ-400 (I think there may even be an FQ-430 now), or an FQ-340. Not the same car we get here.

In USA RS4 will be $80,000 and Carrera 4S is $90,000+. If a USA spec $32,000 IX GSR can beat both of them, that is a story.
