I'm sorry to say, but $2k isn't going to help much as a down payment. 7% sales tax alone on a $19k car would be $1330.

Financing $18k for 60 months at 6% interest will be around $350/month.
Well, you got that right! I put 15K down for a 30K car. Then the payments only cost me 335 a month for (I think) 60 months.

I have about 9K left on the car. But what the hell.

for you.. you would still have a hard time paying for it. I started at 2600 a month after taxes after graduating, living in california and I can barely afford anything but the car.. plus I purchased it used with 8K down. I pay 480 a month.. 180 in insurance.. then figure in 800 rent for a 400sq foot studio apartment, then any other expensive habits I have.. and you get the idea. These car eats me alive in mantience.. its alwasy something. Im glad the car is almost paid off.. if I could do it again I would probably buy something cheaper on mantience so that I dont get any suprise expenses, untill i have enough money to put alot down.

Its awesum i get so much feedback. Oh well atleast i got the advice for not getting it earlier and not being under debt during college. I want a car that will last long and is a sports type car. I think the 06 SI will be a good investment, it will be a DD and the Evo will be on the side in the future. Thanks again all u guys but i will still be on the forums looking at Evos everyday.

hey man, maybe u can afford the car but the insurance gonna rape u up in where the sun dont shine w/out vasaline. graphics, yes because thats what they did to me when i was 18. maintainance should be a lil bit higher for the car because its awd. my sister had her clutch replaced and it costed her an arm and a leg. the new civic si is not bad either. which ever way you want, good luck.
