I'm all in favor of buying parts like that used, though.

3k is a tough limit to set if you include the clutch. For me, it's $925 on performance/tuning and $750 on clutch/flywheel, but my counter stopped a while ago, heh.

It's $170.

They offer several springs with differeing spring rates, but the one that I'm getting is the 19-24psi spring. The stock WGA is 11psi, so our MBCs have to raise boost by 10+ psi in order to get to the desired level. This leads to spikes and taper. I will have mine set at 20psi, so that I basically don't run lower than 20psi, and my Forge UNOS w/soft spring will only have to adjust boost 4-5psi above base on a daily basis. It should spike less, hold boost steady, and not taper much at all.

Have you hooked up your car to a wideband? I have and it runs dumb lean in spots throughout the rpm range, I couldn't believe it when I first did a pull

Half true... Spikes happen WITH the 19-24psi spring as it is hard to control such a fast spooling turbo with a stiff spring. We are starting to change our feeling on the red spring as it makes pump gas boost control without potentially knocking spikes very difficult to impossible to accomplish, you will soon find once you actually test the unit you are speaking of. Anyone running an EBC in combination likely has a very tough time also. The blue spring is about 3psi heavier than stock which is not much. We have shared with Forge, the need for an intermediate spring at 16psi.

Ok, I will see how it works. That's why I'm testing it out - I want to see how well it works with my setup. So, the blue one is 14-18psi, right? That's not intermediate enough? Were you thinking of a 16-20 or 17-21 type spring?

I hate this whole "range thing". When you buy a wastegate spring for a tial, you buy a "15psi", it should hold 15. Not 15-19.

If there had to be a range, 15-17 would be it. The blue is 13-14 as tested. The red is 20.5 on my car, however when you spoolup fast and the wga does not start to open until close to 19-20psi, it will overshoot the target until the flapper lets enough boost out.

I thought there was a range, because you can adjust it? Are you saying that yours is always 20.5, even if it's set to one extreme or the other? And the blue spring won't hold 18 if set to the max?
