Those WG spring rates are based on the LOWEST boost you can run if the boost pressure source is routed straight to the WG. Same effect having your mbc set to the lowest setting. My point is that at the lowest setting with the red, it will create spikes to 24 or so.

if you use a 10 psi WG spring, that means if you run the WG with out the vac line connect, the exhaust pressure will naturally open the waste gate at 10psi. you need 10 psi in the exhaust to make 10psi in the intake, in this case a little more because it's not 100% efficiency. so the exhaust psi is always a little higher than the intake side. if you use a boost controller, it uses the boost on the intake side along with the spring to keep the waste gate close. so if you want to run 15 psi with a 10 psi spring, the boost controller allows 5psi from the intake manifold to pass to the WG, so you have a total of 15psi holding the WG closed.

With the forge, you remove the line with a red spring and it may likely never open at all. Theirs are rated at the lowest you can run WITH the psi on the intake side pushing on the WG baloon.

Is there a "magic" number you have to hit in order to keep these parts or they are yours free and clear?
