anyone heard of this?

This is a email about how to not get points on a ticket....when you get a ticket, simply pay the fine, but pay a few dollars over the specified amount. if its 90$ send a check for 93$....they will in turn send you a check for the amount over payed...Don't cash it though and since the fine has been satisfied they will not bother you, but since the billing process has not been fully done...you will not get the points assesed to your record????? Anyone else hear of this? Is it true

haden't heard of it and though it sounds interesting, I doubt it would work. I have a ticket to pay right now so I may try it for you guys just to see what happens.

I don't know how it is, but in California, that was an urban myth around the mid-'90s. I think that worked for a little bit, but then they changed the rules and made it so you had to send in the exact amount, and if you sent more than the fined amount, they would send it back. Then you'd be delinquent in your payments, if you sent it close to the deadline.
