On a side note, I am running a special on these since I got them in stock.

Hey Tom,
Does Cusco make stronger brackets for this? or can you just sell the brackets without the brace? Thanks.

The Evo does have a good amount of body roll stock - it's a rally car and the suspension is designed that way (it actually produces more grip by rolling I've been told). Espilir GT springs and a progress rear bar were the cure for me, it made an enormous difference in the fun factor of driving the car, but also in how much I trust the car in high speed turns (lots of body roll = spooky for me). You don't need coilovers for a good suspension setup, cheap ones may make it worse. The key is to have components that are well matched (shocks, springs, bar, alignment, etc.). Talk to Robi from robispec, he'll educate you and fix you up if desired .

it sounds to me like you need to work on your driving more than anything. I suggest focusing on driving as smoothly as possible. Almost without fail i always get compliments on my driving every time i take someone out because they say i drive so smoothly and also they are amazed at how fast we end up covering ground. smooth is fast. It does not necessarily feel as fast but believe me smooth driving is the number one factor in becomming a good driver in my mind. This is all just my opinion though so ignore it if you feel so inclined.

hmm, you must be a very experienced driver indeed if you can so thoroughly analyze a person's driving abilities by reading what they type on the internet - can this skill be passed on by typing as well? teach me obiwan !

ok, so it looks like most ppl prefer the 23mm adj.... does the 25mm just make the back end jump out too much? i want my car to be fast around the track... but i also want to have some fun getting the rear end to break loose. when the evo break rear traction how easy is it to control with the 25mm also?

In my experience the suddeness (=controlability) of the transition from grip to slip is more a function of tires than the suspension. The suspension will determine when it happens, but the tires will determine how abrupt the transition is. A smoother transition makes it easier to control. On the Advan's I've lost it a couple of times on the track and spun out (especially in the wet), on Toyo T1R's I've had no problems controlling a slide on the other hand.

oh yeah, and adjustable is definitely the way to go, no matter what size.

After. I really felt like I would be "detuning" the rearend just to get it to step out before the front, so I was hesitant to install a sway bar, but that's not what happened at all. I can go into, through, and out of corners with more speed than before.

True, the stock suspension setup is designed to induce negative camber during compression. Lowering the car puts it into a constant state of negative camber without adjusting it.

are there big front sway bars avaliable for the evo like there are for the STi, for the STi you can get the whiteline 27-29mm adjustable or the strano 32mm hollow, and these are very popular.

I've seen a couple, but they're not very popular upgrades. The stock front sway works pretty well, and stiffer front swaybars will make the car understeer more, which it already does pretty well with the 60/40 weight bias to the front.

Plus the front sway bar is a ***** to replace.
