Isn't that the MSRP???
Invoice price is what the dealership pays for the car.

It should be well under invoice considering the depreciation it will take. The minute you drive it off the lot you have a year and a half old car. BIG HIT.

The 05s were at invoice over 6 months ago.

I would offer 32,000. That is if you want it. Or take invoice and try to work in some other incentive, like all service needs for 2 yrs or 24k miles? Something. Again if you want it. I paid 500 over invoice for my 06 MR, Plus incentives. So anything is possible, just be prepared to walk out and they will call you back, -- and most times won't even let you leave the dealership without coming down closer to your price. The key is to decide on a price and then not to accept anything less. But it must be fair, and you don't need to be rude about it. In the end I had two dealerships bidding each other down on out the door price and on A.P.R. plus incentives. There is also a lot to be said for a salesperson who will go to bat for you in order to sell a car!

If I purchased an 05 I'd kick myself for not spending the extra $500 for the 06.

That is unless you got a SCREAMING deal on the 05. Even at 32K I dont consider that a screaming deal.

The Invoice of the car is $32,732.75 +595 Destination charge +696 for the MR package =34,023.75
The retail price was 34,699.00+595+800=36,094.00 There was also a 500 increase of the EVOs too from 34199 to 34699

In general, this is not true. Dealers on the west coast are advertising new 06 Evos for below invoice. I seriously doubt they are selling them for less than they paid.

When I bought my 05' I looked at an MR and my hometown dealer wanted 33,888 and that was 500 over invoice.

Selling a car at invoice does not mean that the delaership will only break even. Most customers are unaware of the concept of a holdback, which is a cash bonus that the factory pays the dealer after they sell a car. If you buy the MR at invoice, the dealer will still make a little bit of money.

And a dealership that makes money is not neccesarily a bad thing. You get what you consider to be a fair price for the car AND we make some money. That is good for all parties involved.

I would be looking to spend the difference and get the 06 if it were me though.
