Thumbs up Those who have the IX or the MR~

how did you guys choose between the two? Well for myself it was the sunroof....i know it sounds stupid, but after my g35 i HAD to have the sunroof.......yea the suspension and the wheels and the extra gear was kool.......but not as much as the sunroof~ I mean the price difference between the two is less than 1000.....since i got the Ix with the SSL package. So ??? lets hear it !!~

All of the local dealers just wouldn't deal on a MR, so that put it out of range of what I wanted to pay.

Same here, negotiations were slim on the MR.

I went through the same thought process, but ulitmately chose to go with the MR and all its goodies over the sunroof.

i chose a non ssl gsr, due to a stronger body. and that no dealer wanted to give good deals on mr.thats why i went with a non ssl gsr, hell i don't even know its stronger then a sunroof equiped. but atleast i don't have to worry about leaking, and having a hole in my roof

I chose the MR over a sunroof, because I didn't buy my Evo to be like a G35. Hey, I love having a sunroof, too, but it in no way compares to having the ultimate Evo. All that extra weight instead of 17lb BBS rims, Bilstein shocks, lower center of gravity, and the 6spd wasn't my taste. There are plenty of others who felt just the opposite, just like you. It's good to have options, and for those who will upgrade their wheels and suspension, there's not much left on the MR that you need anyway...

I don't know if a sunroof makes the car any weaker or not but I like the extra headroom ( I'm 6ft), not to mention I could not afford the SSL package

money is always the decider for most!
everyone would get an mr if it cost the same!
I basically got my 06 sti for invoice where I could not get an MR for that in KC!
but then again I wanted the STI

It's definately good to have options. I use to think it was funny Mustangs came with 4's and 6's, but if it weren't for allt he people buying those cars, the Mustang might not have survived.

I had a sunroof w/ my 03 Eclipse and loved it, along with a slipperly leather interior. I have an MR now and I dont miss the sunroof at all. The MR interior rocks. I go all week sometimes without even turning on the radio. And damn that AC is a power waster.

I didn't care about the SSL package, but I do wish HID's came from the factory (I'll be going aftermarket). I also couldn't justify the price the MR has over the IX.

The MARK-UP on the MR is too stupid for me.
They get away with that because people pay it.

Yeah, what Warrtalon said for me also, (I had the sunroof on my 03 Evo -- definitely cool)but my Mitsu dealer had a CRAPPY month --- which enabled the sales manager to sell me my MR at invoice to hit their unit bonus number. But it was always MR from day 1 for me.
