EVO broke, dealer clueless.

I was on the highway about a week ago and when I got on the gas to pass a vehicle I heard a loud pop followed by a loss of boost. The car started running real rich and I had to get a tow to the dealership.
I imagine most of you are probably saying it's obviously an air or fuel problem. Well get this, the dealership has had it for over a week and they still don't know what is wrong with the car.
Supposedly they have some sensor on the way that might help them diagnose the problem.
Any one heard of a dealership taking this long just to figure out what is wrong with the car?

Did you bother checking under the hood to see if one of your clamps got loose? I've had that happen before and it felt like I hit a brick wall and lost all power. I pulled over and found the clamp on my throttle body came loose, put it back and I was back on the road.

Was it running rich, or wasn't it staying started. Sounds like an intercooler piping blew off, but you would think a dealer could find that. Hmmmm i would even check the lower I/C Piping

It sounds like you ic hose just blew off. You might have them check. Sounds stupid but maybe they overlooked the most simple probability and thought to hard about it.

I agree with you all and the dealership checked these things last week. They even put the stock BOV back on thinking it was a failure of my Forge BOV.

you probably should have removed the BOV, now the dealership will probably blame that for what happened. too bad.

I'm a little scared. On the bright side, it probably isn't anything major like the turbo itself. I'm afraid I have too many aftermarket parts on the car to have removed them all before taking the car to the dealer.
I hind sight, if I knew they would have the car this long, I could of spent a weekend converting the car to stock.

did they bother to check all the I/C hoses? even the elbows on the I/C itself?

remember all "techs" are technically clueless or they wouldn't be techs, they would be master mechanics...

It spits unburnt black sludge out the pipe when the revs go over 3k (again it seems like an obvious air issue).

Their original estimate was that it was the BOV or IC hose. I'm assuming they would of checked every hose by now but you know what happens when you assume.
