Wow this just seems like a really impulsive decision to me. Why not just wait until you got an estimate? Just because your mom lent you money and gave you her blessing does not mean it makes financial sense to get a new car. I realized I was coming of age when I went to my folks for advice. I realized I had become an adult when, despite my folk's advice, I still would err on the side of caution. It sounds like the money your mom loaned you was burning a hole in your pocket. Plus in the 3 or 4 days it would take to get some body repair quotes you could be haggling with 3 or 4 local Mistu dealers to get the best price on an IX MR. No doubt you got a killer car. Everybody on the forum will tell you that. I just hope it doesn't bite you in the ars financially. You're carrying the note on $60k+ of car loans right now!

Of course the wise thing would be to have waited, but since the means were there I'd much perfer not being stuck in a rental. I didn't get to bad of a deal, I had a choice between a $1000 off MSRP or a 32" lcd tv. I picked the tv, and as it turns out the TV is worth $1060 at most places.

after seeing that pic I think the bumper and car held up pretty fine. My wife got rear-ended in her evo and even WITH the crash bar the, car took $8000 in damage, frame was bent, pillars folded a little, and the trunk was mashed. SO the crash bar didn't really do a damn thing. So for those that think the crash bar is really going to help over 20 mph....I am pretty sure that it won't the lady was doing about 30mph when she hit my wife. So the crash bar was just an extra piece that was f***** up.

I am glad to hear that you are okay and not in pain. Your new car looks very nice. and congratualtions.

I told the cop I thought either she did it on purpose or was on drugs. Who knows.

So far my evo9 bumper is toast and so is my greddy ti exhaust. I'll have the car towed tommorow so an adjuster can look at it. Here's a pic, sorry its from my camera phone.

sorry to see
