I was so close to beginning the intallation of everything, and now it's going to be a real long time.

I was such an *** today too. I've never really freaked out on a complete stranger before, but today I said some things I'm not to proud of. Alot of them.
you lost your cool

SO the crash bar didn't really do a damn thing. So for those that think the crash bar is really going to help over 20 mph....I am pretty sure that it won't the lady was doing about 30mph when she hit my wife. So the crash bar was just an extra piece that was f***** up.

I am glad to hear that you are okay and not in pain. Your new car looks very nice. and congratualtions.
There are other factors that determine the amount of damage in an accident. How fast was the person going that hit your wife? What type of car were they driving? An SUV? For the frame to become bent all the way up to the rear pillars there must have been a lot of momentum (either high speed and/or high amount of mass) hitting her from the rear. Saying the crash bar doesn't help in crashes just because she had $8,000 in damage is pretty silly.

nice upgrade

Well, the flatscreen is great and all, but I'm taking it over to my mom's house today. I think she'll appreciate it more than I will. Besides I've already upgraded to HDTV and she hasn't yet, she's actually still sporting bunny ears.

Well here's a little update. The car had about 7.5k damage done to it, and they did notice it didn't have a crash bar installed. He said the damage would have been slightly less if I had the beam in there, but its not going to affect anything with my insurance company. They are also going to reinstall my factory bumper on the 05 mr and insurance will pay for a new evo9 bumper painted Graphite Grey for the new car.

Damn who is your insurance company again? That is a pretty amazing thing for them to do.

Errrr never mind just realized its the stupid wench that hit you insurrance company. Still to me you are coming out the winner on this deal (well other than the whole new car sub plot).

the comments about "there goes our insurance rates" need to stop!!! You were rear ended and it wasnt your fault, so why would that raise an EVOS insurance rate????? BTW, I am not an insurance agent, LOL
