Those blacked out headlights.

I was wondering, the smoked headlights... are those on the MR's stock or is that a job that has to be done? What kind of cost goes into it if it's a job done to stock V/// headlights or do guys just swap out MR headlights for there stockers.

I just sent my lights over to evodave to have them blacked out. I think the going rate is $145 for the job. I think JDM MR lights cost aroung $1700, so not many people opt for that route. There are a few DIY instructions floating around if you are feeling brave.

I paid $600 for my JDM MR headlights. They usally go for around $699 + shipping/tax.... I also have been painting headlights and tailights for local SO. indiana Evo ownrs and the Louisville, KY area. Evodave does a good job as well. I dont have the time to be big balling like him on the headlight painting. I have to many side jobs with polishing aluminum parts and powdercoating.

some side by side of JDM MR vs. Painted Stock and painted STI

as long as you take your time you can do it by yourself. there are directions all over the forum. i did mine this past weekend and they turned out perfect. I even had a friend that paints cars for a living look at them before i sealed them back up and he said they looked great. all you need is primer, paint, a little 800 grit sand paper, razor, screw driver and time. good luck with your choice. do it yourself only cost $20 if you do it right and take your time.
