Evo IX MR getting new oil pump!!!
Well, I had a thread or two on my oil leak...Changed the oil twice in 3K miles that I have had this car. NEW CRUSH washers everytime. First was a Mobil-1 M110 and the second was with a genuine Mitsu filter.
Driveway looks like garbage. BUT...Took the car to the dealer....Said that the OIL PUMP IS GOING BAD! I hope that just the pump seal and he is confused...But WOW! The tech asked me when I changed my timing belt! I was like WTF?! NEver...It has 3K miles on it. He said well I see an exhaust! AND?!!??!! So I got the manager and said I was pissed that I am getting flak for an exhaust and I just gave them close to $40K for a new car.
Well, the manager took care of me and the car is being fixed now!
Anyone else have issues too?
Kris

is there an after market pump available for the evo?
yeah thats the first thing I accuse my customers of at 3k with an aftermarket exaust , excuse me sir I see you have an exaust on your car so that indicates you replaced your timing belt and caused your oil pump to fail.
by the way is it the oil pump thats leaking or the front crank seal

WTF! Oil pumps fail on these cars? What goes wrong with them the oil pressure releif vavle, or the gearing.
3K on a car and pump goes bad, that is super sh*tty , and how does the pump make the car leak oil, it must make the pressures to high and cause it to come out of the seals I seen it happen on VW a few times, but with a sh*t load more miles.

I am sure it turded up the seals pretty good....The driveway is nasty. I just drove it. The manager is cool and if the engine would have dropped out when I was driving...The AK may have had to come out.....But I trust him ( Christ! Did I just say that?!) for him to take care of me with the Evo.
