yet another funny story... this time 7:30 this morning!
I called my insurance company over a week after I bought the car to find out how much it went up and they didn't even have it listed on my policy!
The dealer told me they had to clear it with my ins. company before they could even go the the DMV to swap my registration over. Good thing some idiot didn't crash into me before I found out!

Similar story here - my dealer neglected to file something and I was pulled over for a while with plates from my GTI (not one ticket written though). Explain your story, don't argue and if you can state that you have followed the necessary protocol, they may let you go. It's when people get defensive that logically the cop will think there is something to hide. I asked cops for help sometimes - "Glad we're talking, maybe you can call this in and get me some help since I have been unable to get things done myself." A display of humility from someone with a wing as large as ours tends to throw people off and become incredibly compliant.

. Cops in MD can be dicks, my bro got pulled over last week and got a repair order for 3 things that were ALL legal.
