I think i may have gotten myself in trouble
A friend of mine recently bought himself a 2006 chevy corvette c6. Well here goes: I kept telling him how my car was pretty fast and that there weren't many stock cars that would be able to really give me much of a problem. I gave him a ride in my evo and his expression was... HOLY CRAP, you get to 100 way quicker than me. he then gave me a ride in his vette. OMG!! that thing hauls once it gets passed 60mph+ . He's affraid to race me around a track cuz he knows i will out run him on the corners. The 1/4 though is another story. He's willing to go at it. I need to know if anyone has had any experience with the c6 wonder <---
. I've read that stock (which he is) they run like 12.4. The mods i have include: MBC; Perrin DP, Test Pipe; Greddy Ti exhaust; reflash. Mods that are being installed as i write this: Hks 272's, JDM MR BOV, ACT 2600 clutch. I am also going to wait until Al comes over to Portland to get a custom tune before i give him a run. I'm guessing about 330whp and 330wtq on race gas @ 20 psi when everythins is said and done. I might boost over that to 23-24 psi just to make sure i get ahead.
. thx guys.

Why does everyone want to beat up on their friends? Ya know what, you might outrun him in the 1/4, but remember these two things. First, the Evo is not meant to be a drag car. Second, at the end of the day you drive home in a high performance EconoBox and he drives home in a Vette.
as far as i kno if his is stock and with your mods you should be able to beat him. the only problem u may have is the EVO starts off quick and then eventually becomes...not slower, but there are definatly cars that could beat it. dont take my word for it but ive seen evo's beat corvettes, but i dont kno how many mods either of the cars had. but hey...go for it...
I think you're a bit confused. You can do 330/330 on pump gas and 21psi or so. You would never use race gas to only push 20psi. In fact, 20psi is kinda low even for pump gas even on your 92oct. With race gas, you'd definitely want to push 24-25psi - it makes you much faster despite no ability to retune for it. Stick with unleaded race gas like 104oct...
I appreciate all of your replies. I thought for sure i was going to get flamed for asking. I just have to wait and see what WarrTalon has to say.. hehe
lol, nvm, he already replied. thx for the info man, i always like hearing your input on things, that's what i'll do. thx

when my evo was stock i had a z06 pull up and try to race, i was already doing like 75 on the interstate and when we downshifted i stayed at his bumper till about 100 and he started to pull away. not comparable to a c6 i guess but may give you something to go by

Well he seems to think that i will beat him on the track, so as long as he thinks it he wont try it.
