Nos

i honestly dont know that much about it besides what it does and how it works, but my question is, is nos considered Force induction? I had this argument with a friend about it i have always thought force induction was when compressed oxygen was forced into the motor not nitrous oxide. I'm willing to concede on this so let me know your opinions.

I'd say FI is when you have an external pump like a TB or SC force air into the engine. NOS is just adding O2 plus cooling

My 2 cents.

NOS works the same way as all the other n2o systems.

It is not forced induction. You are not forcing air into the combustion chamber, like with a super/turbocharger.

Why you guys get bent out of shape, when somone calls nitrous nos.
Hey nos is the name for nitrous. What do you call tissues, kleenex. Most people call mp3, ipods. What do we call internet auctions, ebay.

SO its just a brand name that went mainstream, and everyone assiociates nos with nitrous.

Theres plenty more, i just cant think of them.

because it sounds really stupid when someone says "naws". It's a total ricer term. Always has been, always will be. I don't know any real racers calling it "naws".

It just reminds me of the letter I read in Sport Compact (or another mag like that) several years ago that started out "Like many tuners, I buy my parts from ebay". LOL Suddenly everone who buys a sticker for there car is a "tuner"?

Actually, nitrous is considered forced induction as far as drag classification is concerned. If you go to a track with nitrous on a civic they're not gonna put you in the all motor class.
