i have tanabe 2.75" dp, magnaflow 3" hfc, custom 3" catback piping to carbon/ti hks muffler. on my IX MR

had a issue with hks catback pipe rubbing on driveshaft. thats why i had custom pipe made.
no issues rubbing now with custom piping.

car pulls nice in full boost.

I have a helix downpipe, works hi flow cat, and hks ti carbon. Fitment of the the helix downpipe was not good. It kept hitting the transfer case/cross member on mine so had to tweak a little. Everything else fit great.

I like the sound of my HKS Hi power and there arent any fitment issues with the 8 rear or 9 rear. The only thing is that its not a 3inch exhaust and tapers down towards the tip...not sure about the size but its looks like 2 inches if you look inside the muffler tip. Im changing mine tomorrow to a full 3 inch exhaust...custom made by the shop. With the 35R the HKS exhaust is robbing power big time. I have 3 inch dp, test pipe but with the HKS exhaust it aint cutting it... for stock turbo I guess it aint that bad but for the 35R I need all the flow I need!

i had this exhaust on my VIII and it was perfect, but it rubbed on my IX.
I have also seen VIII's that rub too. after talking to people with the hks catbacks, its like a hit or miss. its either perfect or it rubs. i guess i was lucky on my VIII but not so lucky on my IX. i love the muffler so thats why i kept the muffler and just had the pipe made, and its all 3" now. the hks tapers down going into the cat
