9 IX or MR

I'm planning on buying a 2006 Evo. I've been looking at the normal 9 IX, then the MR too. Which one should I get? I like the SSL package on the IX, but I'm really attracted to the more race-ready MR with the 6 speed. Please give me some feedback, and btw, if this makes a difference, I am planning on upgrading the sound system ridiculously and then probably modding it and all that good stuff. Eventually full customization. Thanks, Later.....

try searching before you post

if you truly want a "race-ready" evo, get the RS. its lighter than the IX or MR

the six-speed really does nothing in terms of speed or racing except maybe being more convenient on the highway

you get more creature comforts and a couple upgraded parts (i.e. rims, 6-speed, shocks) here and there with the MR but is it worth the extra 4-5 g? thats for you to decide

and if you get the IX with SSL then you have a heavier vehicle than you would without it (if im not mistaken, it would be heavier than a MR. but i could be wrong)

Get the EVO IX gsr then. You dont really need the leather, sunroof or the infinity system from the SSL packege. Use that SSL money to upgrade your stereo, HID kit, and etc.

I just bought a IX (not the MR edition). I am very happy with it! The reason I did not get the MR is because for the options you get on an MR compared to the regular IX are not necessary for the price hop. I do regret not having the HIDs though. The six speed is said to be smoother than the five speed too. The reason that I wanted the MR to begin with, is that it is a pretty rare car. For the plans you have, I would probably go with a straight up IX. This is all just my opinion though.

personally id probly go with the regular IX. The MR is cool and all but IMO its not worth the extra couple grand. the RS would be a possibility but i think id miss all the features. if you really want the evo IX lighter than take what wut u dont need.

I don't know about the RS, if you really want a race car ready, the RS is lighter, no wing, etc..

If I had the cash though, I would definately go with the MR though, the 5 grand is worth it in my opinion...

They are all great vehicles though!

I spite my MR eveytime I try to look, its hard to look at it affectionately knowing that I could have had My hearts desire with the extra cash. It can really bum some one out thinking about it every time you look at your $38,000 "slow evo"
I hate not being as happy as I would have been with that extra money to mod.
My friends are sick of me complaining about it, but It's something you could obsess over, ($4000) I don't think there are too many people that are not super satisfied with their GSR's
