yes, I believe technically it is a law in IL to show a front plate, but personally I didn't have one on my tahoe for 5 years and I don't have one on my evo. I told the dealer not to put the holes/bracket on the front bumper so that I can say that it came from the factory that way.(don't know if that will hold up in court).....

It is required to have a front plate on your car in IL. I also do not have one and did not have the dealer put the holes in the bumper. I told a police officer that there was nowhere to put it because it would block vital air intakes for cooling my car. He bought it, but I would not recommend saying this. I got lucky.

That's a good one, I have been lucky enough that I haven't been stopped for any reason so haven't had to explain myself. Hope I stay this lucky.

I live in MD where its mandatory to have a front plate..so what i did was get some suction cups and anchor them in the screw holes on the plate and stick the plate on the windshield in the lower right hand corner of the windshield...havent been bothered since, the law says that the plate must be visible from the front of the car..and that it is

I just received my plates the other day... (man those California inmates are fast at making plates!) and I have yet to put them on. I'll get around to the rear one maybe 4 months or so down the road and i'm only planning on putting the rear one on. I'm going to leave the front off the car because i dont want to put holes in my front bumper. I'm planning on leavinng the dealer sticker/paper in the front window like many of my friends have done.
