Remember the day when Russians has so many Restrictions to their daily lives, now WE are trading that stigma with them. It is getting harder and harder to have fun over here, without tax this and tax that, your car is not painted the correct color etc...blue hoses are ILLEGAL!!! My god, whats next?

I was previously stationed in San Diego. The cops there are going insane with their war on modified cars. Ironically that's where all the aftermarket shops are. It's like, "We'll make it easy for you to buy nitrous sytems, but it's illegal to have." I'm surprised they even allow these shops to stay in business...well not really, since the city probably makes a bit of cash on such bull**** charges. Their mentality of "Oh I see you have a cold air intake. Must be used for street racing. Oh I see you have decals it must be street racing." Hundreds of people have lame *** bumper stickers, but have one for Injen and you're a street racer. Pretty soon owning a Japanese car in California will be illegal cause it's clearly used for street racing. I modified my Lancer, hell I ordered an SR20DET for my '90 240SX, but that doesn't mean I ever street raced. Most smart people save it for show and track. The only legit thing that cop had on him was missing the front plate....illegal hose color?!

I guess i'm lucky, i live in a county in IL that doesn't require any vehicle inspections. Otherwise they would get me for an illegal blue hose.

Yeah SC doesn't really care what you do to your car. As long as you pay a lame *** property tax and registration once a year. If I were still in SD the cops would have a field day... "hmm... Injen CAI. What's this! Blue RRM hoses! Blue grounding cables!! Your *** is going to jail with all the other murders and rapists. Blue hoses... drug dealers have blue hoses!"

Also, a lot of counties in GA don't require emissions inspection at all... I've never had problems with emissions my whoe life. =]

I drove by a motorcycle cop in a school zone here in Vegas once that tried to stop me for a loud exhaust. Once he told me why he pulled me over I kinda laughed and he got pissed and asked me if I thought it was some kind of a joke. I said "Sir, I don't even have an exhaust. I have an intake that I just put it, but I don't have an exhaust." Then he said "You're lucky you caught me on a day where I'm not allowed to inspect you for illegal parts." No joke I went home laughing telling my mom some dumb cop tried to pull me over for being an asian streetracer stereotype (asian, spiked hair, dark tint, loud music)

This is gay. Whatever happened to "innocent until proven guilty"? I can't see how this kind of preemptive action is going to reduce street racing. If I have a heavily modified vehicle, how does the officer know that I'm engaging in illegal activity? I could just be a responsible citizen who periodically takes his car to a track and has fun in a controlled environment while all the while obeying the law. Now if I get caught street racing, fine. Otherwise, leave me alone.

One other thing... I can understand why some would be concerned about cetain modifications that aggravate the air pollution problem we have in CA. We are, after all, the most populous state in the union. However if a guy's mods meet emission requirements, who the %$#@ cares?

thay dont inspect cars around here. even if they did most cops dont know or dont care about what is under your hood. they just bust ya when they catch ya racing or acting like an idiot.

we do get emission tested every 2 years though, the first few tests they just check for obd codes

Never once been harrassed here in CO. I've heard of some of my friends gettin popped for stupid crap, but it was just like the video, they DID have something illegal which warranted being stopped and gave the cop free reign to be a ***** (mud covered plates, no front plates, no seat belt...)

I like how they never made mention of giving the benefit of the doubt...instead of instant guilt.

Some parts come with CARB numbers that can maintain smog certification and be completely legal...where was that reference???
