Are all sportscars meant for street racing, or just the ones owned by people with less money?

It's straight-up discrimination against the young, middle class, or thrifty. Most publicized street racing accident in years, the Enzo crash on PCH, was comitted by a guy w/2 Enzos and a MB McClaren SLR. Cops would never bother him until he wipes at 160+
Intresting point you have there

Officer: " I saw his stock muffler and became suspicious? I saw his stock wing?" Give me a break.

What if the driver happens to be Asian? I bet a good case could be made for racial profiling.

How about (again) no search without a warrant? What's the probable cause. I'm not a lawyer, but I think a lawyer will have plenty to chew on if and when this happens.

I do have a problem with 4th amendment violations, among other things.
You are right on your statement, what I'm saying is that no matter how right you are and even if the law in on your side, you'll only get justice after the police do whatever they want with you. Another thing to think about is that they make it very hard for you to go to trial with a jury where you could have a chance.

I always laugh when I read all the "fight the ticket" advise I see on these forums. Sure you can fight the tickets and other charges in court, but getting to your day in court can be a real ballbreaker. You'll have to keep going back who knows how many times. The judicial system has many procedural road blocks you have to deal with. Also, you gotta have a lawer or you are toast. You might win vindication in the end and get you car back, etc. , but at what cost...?

In theory you got rights and safeguards against unwarranted and unlawful searches and seizures. You also have rights against false arrest. etc. The problem is that you have to fight for all these rights through the courts after they made love to you .

When it comes to cars and laws, CA SUCKS. I live in MN, yeah we might have gotten 10-15 inches of snow yesterday but I don't get pulled over because the exhaust on my car is modified for the purpose of "street racing." Most cops I know would view that as a waste of time. They pull you over for things like speeding. I much rather have 10 inches of snow and much less leagal BS than live in sunny CA and deal with that crap. When is the big earth quake going to come and knock that state in to the ocean?

I'd love to know how many cars used by convicted street racers were modified, and how many modified cars were invovled in fatal accidents, when compared to the number of stock cars in those scenarios.

Certainly where I live in Colorado, an overwhelming number of racing deaths are caused by high school kids in the Accord or Camry that mommy and daddy bought for them. These cars are unmodified, but the deaths are down to poor driver judgement. CU Boulder often put mangled up cars that were involved in street racing and/or drink driving accidents in the middle of campus to frighten people. They have always been stock cars.

I wish I had the time to post some stuff. I got some crazy stories about the local SD cops and my EVO. It is just so funny they way they act and some of the tactics they use.

"and of course the ignition system is NOT legal"

Well from what my eyes can see its just a basic MSD 6A ignition...which is OBD II Legal and CARB Approved in All States. maybe i'm wrong, or i just have too much time on my hands because i actually watched that part of the video again to quote what was said...

True. But just get a nice, smart, hungry lawyer to take the case on a contingency basis. THat's what I would do. It would scare all the other departments straight.

Know your dope fiend! Your life may depend on it! You will not be able to see his eyes because of T-Shades, but his knuckles will be white from inner-tension and his pants will be crusted with semen from constantly jacking off when he can't find a rape victim. He will stagger and babble when questioned. He will not respect your badge. The Dope Fiend fears nothing. He will attack, for no reason, with every weapon at his command - including yours. BEWARE. Any officer apprehending a suspected marijuana addict should use all necessary force immediately. One stitch in time (on him) will usually save nine on you
